Long term supporter and former vice-president of the club, Ivor Jones, sadly passed away on 21st June 2026, aged 90.
Ivor’s affiliation with the club began when he moved to Beverley and became a Yorkshire RFU referee in 1970. He had many fond memories of refereeing lots of the club’s elder statesmen including Mike Archibald, Keith Lenton, Pat Kilgannon, Paul Thorpe, Jeff Worrall, Graham Hodgson, Chris Dexter, Kev Dean, Alan Dale and Dave Davies, to name just a few.
After hanging up his whistle, he remained a club member and was a frequent spectator at Beaver Park up until only a few seasons ago.
The family link with the club continues on, with Ivor’s grandson Max playing for what will be next season’s U15s and his son Phil (a former club player) being one of the U15’s coaches.
