Initially all a young player needs is some basic playing kit. This can consist of a shirt (generally rugby shirts are best as they are less likely to rip), a pair of shorts or tracksuit bottoms and some boots or training shoes. Training shoes are generally OK at the start of the season but as the ground gets muddier then they will need some boots. The Club will provide shirts for all matches and tournaments. We request that all members purchase the Club shorts and socks at cost price, to be worn for matches. We have a Club Kit shop were socks, shorts, training jackets, gum shields etc. can be purchased at reasonable prices.
Especially in the winter months it is important for the young player to keep warm. There is no problem in them training or playing in tracksuit bottoms instead of shorts if it keeps them warmer (and as long as you don't mind them getting muddy or torn) and any other clothing required to keep dry and warm (so far as possible). We would much rather your child wear clothing to keep them warm and happy rather than the standard shirt and shorts. Hot showers are available if required.
