Beverley RUFC Under-15's visited a wet Scarborough on Sunday and returned home with a comfortable 72-0 victory.
The hosts had started brightly controlling the set pieces but were quickly setback with a broken collarbone to their most influential forward. Whilst they continued to dominate the scrum for the remainder of the match Beverley were too powerful in open play as they ran in twelve tries in a one sided contest. the later part played as a training session.
The visitors man of the match was Tom Roberts who was fearsome with ball in hand, scoring two tries whilst then attracting attention to allowed others to profit elsewhere.
With skipper Sam Bayes having an off day with his kicking boots; Tom stepped up to reveal another string to his bow, completing four conversions including two from out wide. A strong running, sidestepping back row who can kick – now there’s a skill set.
Jacob Marson made a noticeable debut with two tries from the left wing which added to scores by Louix Gorman, Henry Fenn, Logan Radford (2), Ben Lazenby (3)and Brad Cook.
Comfortable then for Beverley as they impressed in the loose but they continue to require improvement in their set piece to overcome sterner tests.
