BEVERLEY Under-13's went down 20-15 to Moortown.
Immediately they were on the front foot and applied pressure to the forwards.
Beverley’s backs passed down the line and scored in the corner with less than two minutes gone. They piled on the pressure and scored a second try within five minutes.
Again the backs broke through, but over confidence got the better of them and unnecessary passes squandered a clear chance.
This was the wake-up call for Moortown who scored two tries, and then a good series of phases ended in another try.
After half-time, Beverley levelled, but Moortown clawed back the advantage and with the introduction of a new (very large) winger scored in the corner.
Beverley kept pressuring the Moortown defence and most of the last quarter was played in the Moortown half, but to no avail.
