BEVERLEY RUFC Under-13's hosted Malton for the first time this season.
Beverley won the toss and elected to kick and got on the front foot following an inch-perfect kick from Beverley’s no.10 forcing Malton to carry the ball over their own try line to award Beverley an attacking scrum. Malton contested the scrum and almost drove Beverley off the ball, but the Beverley scrum half got the ball away quickly that allowed the Beverley backs to spread the ball wide and score in the corner after on two minutes.
From the restart, Beverley again quickly regained control and quick recycling again allowed the Beverley backs to break down the wing to score again.
Strong running saw Malton test the Beverley defence, but the pressure from the centres paid off with two further tries and Beavers added another score.
Malton’s heads never dropped and they scored a well-deserved try following good play.
After half-time it was a very similar display with constant pressure and quick thinking leading to four more tries.
In the closing seconds Malton showed great character and determination to score the last points.
Beverley’s try scorers were: Max Bayes, Ollie Woolock, Ryan Westerman, Joe Coates, Sam Davies, John Saunders, Tom Rea, Charlie Brown, Jack Charles
Awards went to: Max Bayes (Pass of the Week), Aaron Dibnah (Tackle of the Week) and Archie Harwood (Player of the Week).
