BEVERLEY under-13's cruised to victory at Driffield.
Beavers received the kick off and were immediately under pressure from Driffield’s forwards who regained possession. A number of phases followed with Driffield trying to punch holes in the Beverley defence, but they held firm, resulting in a mistake from Driffield to stop the onslaught.
From the scrum restart Beverley kept the ball and showed excellent direct running and sharp passing.
Beverley gained yards and moved the ball through the hands to get winger Joe Coates over for the first try.
From the restart a similar pattern emerged. Driffield were very effective at the break down, but when the ball emerged Beverley were quickly up in defence to shut down any chances.
Both sides counter rucked all through the game and were very evenly matched, but as soon as the ball got to the Beverley back line, they looked like scoring.
Excellent distribution from the scrum half and stand off combination allowed the centres for Beverley to run riot with miss moves and direct running.
It created big space on the wings to bring four further tries in the first half.
After the break, the pattern of play continued, with Beverley running in a further four tries.
Driffield never gave up and scored a well earned try midway through the half.
The try scorers were Jack Charles, Ollie Egan, Ollie Woolock, Ryan Westerman, Joe Coates and Sam Davies.
Beverley’s awards went to Jack Charles (Pass of the Week), Ollie Woolock (Tackle of the Week) and Aaron Dibnah (Player of the Week).
